It all began with Rachel Joy Scott.   Shortly after discovering this young girl's story, her life, her legacy; God moved with in me so powerfully that I re-dedicated my life to God on a cold February evening in 2002.  

Shortly after this re-dedication, God begain to do awesome things in my life.  One of the desires He placed in my heart was for young people.  There are two main purposes that God has placed upon my heart and life in regards to young people. 

First is to be a encouragement to them.  To pour my life into their lives, to lift them up, to give my self away, just as Christ gave Him self away and poured His life into people. One of the greatest blessings is being able to selflessly sacrifice and give and give and give.  That's when the blessings come down. 

Secondly, would be to share God's awesome plan of salvation with youth that do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  We live in such a dark and hostile world, that is hopeless.  My hearts desire is to share the truth, the hope, the good news that Jesus Christ gave us to a generation that is lost and hurting.  We are not promised tomorrow.  Today is the day of salvation.

Thirdly, would be to live a life that reflects Christ's love, grace, mercy, compassion, and sacrifice.  I want to live such a radical life for Jesus, that people would look at me and see Christ shining from me so brightly that they stop and look and then give glory to God in heaven.   I want to be a example for young people by the way I lead my life. 

I currently help out with the youth ministry at First Baptist Church of McAllen, Texas.  I specifically work in the technical area of the ministry.  Which includes operation of the sound board, programming presentations for the youth and youth minister, and keeping and maintaining the youth group's website.  Besides being in service in these areas, I also help out with special events and give my heart, my prayer's and resources to the youth ministry at First Baptist Church, in order to bless these awesome young people at this church. 

I am excited what the future holds.  I know with out a shadow of a doubt that God wants me to be involved with youth ministry in one form or another.  Perhaps even one day on a full time basis.  But for now, I patiently wait upon Him, and seek His will for my life.  I trust and hold to His promises.  He has big things in store, I know.  This is just the beginning.
